Police identify woman hit by train in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Monday, the Valdosta Police Department identified the woman hit by a train on S. Fry St. Friday evening as 45 year-old Tonya Osby.

Just before 6 p.m. Friday, Osby was trying to cross the track on S. Fry St. off of E. Hill Ave. when she was clipped by the train. Railroad employees on scene at the time said the gates were down, the lights were flashing, and the train did sound its horn.

VPD said Osby suffered a leg injury. As of noon Monday, she was listed in good condition at SGMC in Valdosta.
