Pizza delivery man robbery jury selection begins

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A man who has been in jail over three years, is about to go on trial for the terrifying robbery of a pizza delivery man in August of 2011.

Taiun Davis is one of four men charged with robbing Willie Tift, Jr. at an apartment complex on Moultrie Road.  Dontavious Calloway and James Tanner, Jr. were also charged in the case, but have not gone to trial.

Torand Howard was found not guilty of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in his trial in that case.

Tift said that three men held guns to Tift's head as they robbed him, and then fired shots as he drove away.

The apartment was vacant, and the three men with guns took his money and several pizzas.

The state has a much more serious case again Davis, which has not yet gone to trial. James Anderson, a 7th grader at Radium Middle School was shot and killed at a duplex on Mercedes Street in September of 2011, and Davis was charged with that crime as well.
