Veterans recognized with free meal at Open Roads Smokehouse

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Veterans who will participate in Barney's Run for Warrior's tomorrow got a free meal at Open Roads Smokehouse tonight.

Owner BJ Fletcher says she wanted to give back to those who have sacrificed so much.

The run will raise money to train service dogs for Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

"I believe that God and the Veterans are the reason I'm standing here now, every bit of freedom that we have is because of them, and this is the least that we can do,” says Owner BJ Fletcher.

"We are doing greatly, its been a big success, as you can see my fellow veteran that got his dog since the first time I came and the organization has grown even bigger," says Marine Veteran Jorge Torres.

The run will start at 8:30 tomorrow at the Marine Corps Logistics Base.
