COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Sheriff's investigators said autopsy results confirm the man found dead in a pond is the same person who was reported missing in March.

An autopsy showed 52-year old Diaz drowned.

His death is being ruled an accident.

Diaz disappeared while walking home from a friend's place on March 22nd where he had been drinking and watching television.

His body was found submerged in the water by officials near Mahogany Road Monday morning.

Searchers on horseback and in the air had been scouring the area. Since then crews were working hard on the ground, but turned up nothing until Monday.

The Sheriff's office is working to have Diaz' remains to be sent back to his home in Guatemala.
