Albany man indicted for exploiting the elderly

An Albany man is indicted for three counts of exploitation of an elderly person and one count of criminal trespass.

Prosecutors say Ivory Johnson would gain confidence of older people, often after approaching them at grocery stores, and steal their money.

Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards said "We ask in all instances of this type of situation that the public be on the lookout.  We need to protect our senior citizens from persons who would take advantage of them. Use them and exploit them financially."

Investigators are working with Lee County authorities now to see if Johnson also exploited any elderly people there.
