THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Near record high temperatures could lead to high utility bills at a time of year when bills typically are fairly low.
Thomasville Utilities customers have until the end of this month to sign up for the Budget Billing Program.
It gives customers the choice of paying a set amount each month, based on the average of the previous year's total usage.
Greg Lawrence, Public Information Officer for the City of Thomasville, said, "Budgets are always a concern. People always want to make sure that they're able to stretch every dollar. And this is a way, if you have a high-usage month, this will help mitigate the impact."
To enroll in the program, residential utility customers must have a minimum of 12 months of continuous utility services.
Residents have until April 30th to contact Customer Care at (229) 227-7001 and enroll.
