City commissioners want meeting with ADICA board

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany city commissioners are planning a face to face meeting with Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority board members to talk about the problems with downtown development.

They say their concerned since ADICA has not been able to find out when Waffle House will start construction on a downtown restaurant that was supposed to be open months ago.

Interim downtown manager Sharlene Cannon says issues facing Albany are no different than other cities.

"Cities across the nation as I said have overcome the obstacles and are working together to improve their downtown's. There is no reason that this downtown is not doing the same." said Sharlene Cannon.

The date of that joint city commissioners and ADICA meeting has not been set.
