Albany High's Jordan Young signs with South Georgia State

Albany High Indians power forward Jordan Young is headed to play basketball at the next level.

On Wednesday morning, the senior signed with South Georgia State College.

With the Hawks, he will play power and small forward.

Young helped lead the Indians to winning their region and making it to the GHSA 4A State Playoffs.

He said South Georgia State just felt like the right place.

And he credits coach Archie Chatmon with getting him there.

"Everything I learned was from Coach Chatmon," said Young" "I feel as if I wouldn't be wearing this hat or having this [signing] if it wasn't for him. He's a great coach."

"With what we do here, it's about the kid," said Chatmon. "It's about what we can do for him and where can can we take him. With his efforts and my efforts, where can we go. And Jordan is a great example of what can we accomplish."

Young said he hopes to win a lot of games over the next two years at South Georgia State.
