Real estate experts are concerned that copper thieves are targeting large, empty commercial buildings in Albany.
One of the latest, the former Chevrolet dealership on South Slappey Boulevard where copper wiring and air conditioning units were stolen.
Some other big buildings have been completely gutted of wiring and plumbing by crooks doing thousands of dollars in damage.
Coldwell Banker, Walden and Kirkland President Larry Walden said "They gain entrance. they do their work maybe over 2 or 3 days, and then they are gone. But we've got to find who is buying this copper. And that's the only way I think this problem will ever go away."
Albany Police are investigating the burglary.
