COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - Officers arrested a man after they say he was seen on camera stealing gas from his employer.
Investigators said Calvin Simpson confessed after he was seen on surveillance video driving into Colquitt Ag and filling up a 100 gallon tank with gasoline.
Simpson said he sold the gas for $1.50 per gallon.
He had a key to the fence that allowed him to get inside.
"It's an example of how video surveillance is beneficial to not only protect the business, but also if they have employees, people of that nature doing these type crimes," said Lt. Shawn Bostick with Colquitt County Sheriff's Office.
Simpson faces misdemeanor charges since the theft is valued at less than $1,500.
