MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Moultrie Police are welcoming any help to assistance from anyone who has information about last week's armed robbery at the local Suzie Q, or any others in Moultrie.

The number of armed robberies are more than last year. And although Moultrie PD has solved most cases, any helped with the open cases are welcomed.

Last year, Moultrie Police investigated 17 armed robberies. Just in the last five weeks, they've had eight, including this one last Thursday at Susie Q's gas station near Highway 319.

Investigator Raul Leal says his department has solved at least three of the eight robberies since March. Although surveillance video such as this is helpful, tips from the community help as well.

"I can't stress enough that help from the community its essential. If anybody knows anything they can come forth and tell us," said Leal. "The large number of robberies definitely kept us busy."

Patrol officers to their part to decrease crimes such as this by staying connected with the community.

Lieutenant Rob Rodriguez makes sure that officers work with the community not only to build relationships but to create an environment where people are able to reach out to police if they see something.

"We recognize that we're only a tool in solving crime we need the public's help," said Rodriguez. "As we get information it may not make any since to us but if we happen to have a conversation with that person and say you know I've learned this and that. Well you know they can say that's interesting because I seen a guy yesterday that look like that."

Moultrie police hope if you recognize the robbers in this video or know anything about other robberies, you won't hesitate to call them. If you have any information regarding Friday's armed robbery you are asked to call 229-890-5500.
