ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Community leaders play golf to provide programs for disadvantaged young people in Albany.
Stonebridge Country Club hosted more than 15 teams for the Sixth Annual Unity in Community Golf Tournament sponsored by the Dougherty County Sheriff's office.
The money will be used for programs to help keep at-risk kids out of gangs and jail.
"Work through our Beyond Scared Straight program and our counseling. Shop With The Sheriff time at Christmas time. Back to School shopping. We use it for our summer camp," said Dougherty County Sheriff Kevin Sproul.
Some of the money will also help the Sheriff put on his Unity In Community lunch this fall.
