TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - A member of the Swedish Parliament has a special place she spends most Easter weekends. Maria Stockhaus was a foreign exchange student in Tift County in the 80's.
And because of that, she comes back almost every year on Easter and visits her host family. Now, she brings her own family with her. She said the pace of life in South Georgia is what attracts her to the area.
"For us of course it's vacation but it's also a little bit, the pace is calmer and people are nice to each other--say hi. It's really a nice experience I think," said Maria Stockhaus.
Stockhaus's sons, 16 and 18 years old, and her husband came with her, and they plan to come back next year as well.
