DONALSONVILLE, GA (WALB) -  It's a great weekend to spend with the family out on the lake, especially if it's for a good cause.

The Lake Seminole Festival will kick off Saturday morning at the Spring Creek Park Resort.

The event raises money for Seminole county Middle and High school bands.

You can expect a lot of fishing, prizes, and games for all ages.

Band Booster President and Owner of Spring Creek Park Resort Reed Rognstad said, “There will be all sorts of arts and crafts vendors.  We're going to have entertainment all day. Of course, the Green Machine bands, their ensemble bands, will be playing throughout the day. And of course at 3:00 p.m., we have a blind canoe race.”

Newly renovated landings can now accommodate 300 boats and trailers.

The fishing tournament starts at 7 a.m. and the festival begins at 10 a.m.
