ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Christian filmmakers the Kendrick Brothers will premiere their latest movie, War Room in August.
The trailer for War Room has already been viewed more than half a million times in less than one week online, showing fans are excited about the next film.
"We're very encouraged and grateful that that many people would take an interest in it," said Alex Kendrick, who directed the film and stars in it.
War Room is the Kendrick Brothers first film made outside of Albany and not under the guidance of Sherwood Baptist Church.
They filmed last summer in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Some 85 churches helped in the production.
War Room is about the power of prayer.
"[It's about] our need for prayer," said Kendrick. "And if there was ever a time in our culture when we needed prayer, we would say [it's] now."
After their breakthrough hit Facing The Giants, Fireproof and Courageous were even bigger hits, turning Christian films into a more powerful medium.
"For us it's about telling an inspirational story that draws people to a greater faith in the Lord. And all that comes before anything else. So if people respond that way and desire a closer walk with God, that's success for us," said Kendrick.
War Room opens on August 28th in 1,400 theaters, including Albany, GA.
