Second suspect arrested, charged in recent VSU robbery

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A second man was facing charges Wednesday in connection with a robbery on the Valdosta State University campus in March.

19 year old Kelvin Wright was arrested in the 4000 block of Sheffield Pl. in Valdosta around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

As of Wednesday, he was accused of snatching a cell phone from a female student as she walked outside the university's rec center around 5:15 p.m. on March 19th.

20 year old Lekendry Roberts was arrested just hours after the robbery and accused of driving the getaway car. As of Wednesday he was facing a charge of driving without a license.

Campus police said surveillance video from campus was key in making the arrests. They said the stolen phone had not been located as of Wednesday and the investigation was still ongoing.
