DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

There's apparently a unique bond that happens when you hit an animal with you car.

At least, that was the case when a buzzard hit and got stuck in the grille of a truck.

The collision happened near the intersection of Leary Road and Mud Creek Road in Dougherty County.

The driver, who didn't want to be named, got out, and saw the buzzard stuck in the grill of their truck, but still alive.

So, they pulled it loose and drove it to a vet to be checked out.

Officials believe it is a young male buzzard.

Dougherty County Animal Control said it was dazed and had some internal injuries, but it would likely survive.

Veterinarian Dr. Karl Dockery said they plan to care for the bird for a couple of days and then release it back into the wild.
