OCILLA, GA (WALB) - Four masked men were caught on camera holding up a Flash Foods in Ocilla in January. Police have five people in custody, and now Jamal Colson, who was on the run, is being bars.
Five men have already been arrested and indicted for armed robbery and aggravated assault, say Ocilla PD officials: Willie Tolbert, James Peacock, Ladarian Colbert, Devontay Hamilton, and De'Kevious Appling.
Colson is in the Crisp County jail where he was arrested by the Sheriff's office last Friday. Ocilla investigators say Colson drove one of the getaway cars following a robbery January 9th at the Flash Foods.
Colson is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Two masked robbers, wielding guns and caught on camera, stormed the Ocilla Flash Foods on Irwin Avenue. Then two more, just 15 seconds after, follow from the other side of the convenience store. Police say while one of them held up the clerk, three others grab cash and hundreds of dollars of merchandise from the store.
"$150 in cash was taken, and around $700 in merchandise is taken, cigarettes and things of that nature," said Ocilla Police Sgt. Doug Douglas.
Soon after police were called to the scene, an Irwin County deputy made a traffic stop, pulling over a 2009 burgundy Dodge Charger, that they say is seen in this video pulling behind the convenience store just before the robbery. That's when the three of the four suspected robbers were taken into custody.
"'A traffic stop was made by Steven Rogers with Irwin County Sheriff's Department, along with Ben Hill County and Fitzgerald Police Department Units. They were apprehended there and taken into custody," said Douglas.
