ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A new bill that should provide more support for Georgia seniors is awaiting the governor's signature.
It will move the Division of Aging Services to the Department of Community Health.
Currently it's part of the Department of Human Services.
Supporters say it's the right move for the division and for older Georgians.
"And that's because a number of our programs are health related. So we're excited that they passed almost unanimously," Kay Hind said.
Supporters say the new law give the Division of Aging services the opportunity to apply for more grants and funding.
