Preventing Lee County break-ins

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - The Lee County Sheriff is reminding residents to lock their vehicles after several entering auto cases.

Sheriff Reggie Rachals says several of the cars broken into on Grave Springs Road and Oakland Road were unlocked.

In addition to locking your car, Sheriff Rachals encourages folks to take valuables inside your home.

"Try to put them in the trunk or hide them under the seat where they're out of view. Try to keep that in mind. I know it's an inconvenience but it keeps that theft from going through your vehicle," said Rachals.

If you have any information about the thefts or have seen anything suspicious, call the sheriff's office.
