State lawmakers are in the final week of the 2015 legislative session.
They'll have two days to decide on the passage of numerous bills such as the Transportation Bill.
State Senator Freddie Powell Sims said lawmakers in the House and Senate are working on the language in the bill. She says the bill is needed because the state is connected through transportation and to fix aging road infrastructure.
“They need us in rural Georgia. We need metro Atlanta and if we all work together we can come up with a piece of legislation that is good for the entire state,” said Sen. Freddie Powell Sims, Democrat, District 12.
Sims says she is proud of the budget approval to provide funding towards Albany State University's Fine Arts Center, Darton College and Southwest Georgia Technical College. The 2015 Legislative Session ends on Thursday.
