ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Lots of folks came together in support of a man battling a rare form of cancer.
In Leesburg organizers sold barbecue plates and held an auction for Jeff Cook.
They say Cook has to make regular trips down to Jacksonville for treatment and the funds raised will help with medical expenses.
Jennifer Heath tells us they sold hundreds of barbecue plates and she appreciates the support.
"A great turnout from the community. We advertised on facebook for a couple of weeks and people spread the word and it got out good and everybody came together and we appreciate it," says organizer Jennifer Heath.
She says there is also a fund set up in his name at the First Sate Bank of Leesburg.
