Person of interest sought in Friday shooting in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta police believed Monday afternoon that they may know who shot a man in the leg during a robbery.

Officers spent the weekend trying to talk to people about the shooting, which happened around 7:30 Friday night at 828 W. Adair St.

Police said 34 year old Charles Anderson, Jr. was sitting in his car with his girlfriend when a black man came up, pointed a gun at him, and demanded money.

"[Investigators] are still tryin' to locate some people. they do have leads they're followin' up on. Also, I've been told that they do have a person of interest that they're tryin' to locate," said Valdosta Police Department Lt. Aaron Kirk.

The suspect did get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Kirk said it was still unclear Monday why, exactly the suspect decided to shoot Anderson, Jr.  Anderson, Jr. was treated at SGMC and released.
