THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -  People in Thomasville are putting on their highest heels to walk for a good cause.

The Treehouse Children's Advocacy center in Thomasville is hosting their annual fundraiser called “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes.”

Men wear high heels during the walk to bring an end to rape, sexual assault, and gender violence.

The center provides support for victims, and every dime raised goes directly to the Treehouse.

Forensic nurse Heather Stroh said, “There's probably nobody in Thomasville that doesn't know somebody that's been affected by sexual assault. And we need this center and we need this money, so I really encourage people to come out!”

Check in begins at 9:30 a.m. at Southwest Georgia Tech and the walk starts at 10:30 a.m.
