VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta High School's head baseball coach was doing his best Friday to help his players move forward after the loss of a teammate.
14 year old Colton Shaw was hit in the head by a baseball during the baseball game he was playing in at Colquitt County Wednesday night. He died Thursday afternoon after being taken off life support.
Friday, Coach Bart Shuman talked to the team and let the players decide what they wanted to do. "Just kind of let the guys decide what kind of practices they wanna have and just keep it low key," said Coach Shuman. "Our concern right now is tryin' to get these guys back to a normal routine."
The baseball games scheduled for Monday had been canceled Friday. But, as of Friday afternoon, the game against Lowndes County was expected to be played as scheduled on Tuesday.
