Neighbors react to kidnapping in north Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Folks in a north Albany neighborhood are on edge this Thursday night after a kidnapper snatched two little boys.

Horrell White remains in the Dougherty County Jail tonight charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of sexual battery.

Police said two 9-year old boys were playing in a yard on Telfair Avenue Tuesday night about 7p.m. when White put them in his pickup and drove off.

One neighbor told us Thursday night she won't even let her grandkids walk to a nearby store alone.

"Going to the store I would personally walk my grandkids, its nice to get out and walk, but they need to be supervised when they're younger. When you feel they're old enough to have enough sense to walk to the store teach them not to talk to strangers," said Lue Jones.

The area where the boys were taken is near Cleve Cox Landing and the Albany Riverwalk.

Thanks to an alert witness, police found the boys at White's home and returned them to their mother.
