VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Around 100 people came together at a church in Valdosta Thursday night to remember Valdosta High School freshman Colton Shaw.

The 14-year old was taken off life support Thursday and died after being hit in the head by a thrown ball at a baseball game at Colquitt county High School Wednesday night.

Valdosta's CrossPointe Church, Colton's friends and teammates shared their memories of Colton and talked about how much they'll miss him.

Some shared funny stories while many teared up.

One teammate said he is thankful for the way this tragedy has brought everyone together.

"With this happening, it's brought us together. Brought us closer together as a team, as a family, as a school, and I'm thankful for that," Wesley Veal.

The vigil was originally scheduled to be held at the high school track but was moved to the church because of the weather.
