CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - The Crisp County Sheriff's Office is educating citizens on gun safety Thursday night. The annual 2-day course kicks off Thursday night at 6.
More than 20 people signed up. Representatives from the District Attorney's office will educate them on gun laws as well.
"Guns don't really hurt people, but people that don't know how to operate guns is where the issue comes in. So we're going to teach them how to operate the weapon that they already have, if they have one, and just the general knowledge of the different types of handguns," said Crisp County Training Officer Michael Fraser.
Saturday from 8 to 1, the group will use the sheriff's laser simulator to practice firing a weapon.
