Restaurant employee thwarts attempted armed robbery

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta police were searching as of Thursday morning for the man who attempted to rob a restaurant at gunpoint.

Police said around 8 p.m. Wednesday a man came into Ming's Chinese Restaurant at 508 N. Patterson St. and ordered food.

Before the man finished his meal though, police said he went and got a gun from his car and then came back in and demanded money. The employee went to the back and called police, but when she came back to the front he was gone.

Nothing was taken from the restaurant and no one was injured. It was unclear Thursday morning if the suspect ran away on foot or drove away in a car after leaving the restaurant.

Call Valdosta Police if you have any information.
