VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - As of Wednesday afternoon, some South Georgia convicted felons and probationers may have had a better chance of getting a job thanks to a job fair in Valdosta Wednesday morning.
The Valdosta Probation Office brought businesses willing to hire convicted felons and probationers to Mathis City Auditorium from 9-11 a.m.
The job fair was also open to the public.
One probationer, Deontrey Crumpton, said said he was thankful for the opportunity. "It kind of gave me a little motivation knowing that they wanna help, you know," said Crumpton.
Another probationer, Carla Wade, said she was also appreciative of the job fair. "I have children and grandchildren and I try to do everything I can, go by every guide line there is to go by, to help from being incarcerated," said Wade.
