VSU Chief of Staff resigns

Andy Clark Andy Clark

The President's Chief of Staff at Valdosta State University had resigned as of Tuesday.

The university confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Dr. Kimberly Luse submitted her resignation Monday.

It comes after campus police found Dr. Luse walking near Palms Dining Hall around 11:45 Friday night. The campus police report indicates that Luse appeared to be in need of assistance and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Andy Clark, the University's Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications had taken over Dr. Luse's duties for the immediate future as of Tuesday.

"We had meetings yesterday morning with the direct reports, had meetings with communications, basically had a really quick meeting with the chief of police and Maj. Farmer on emergency communications because that was also moved to me," Clark explained.

As of Tuesday afternoon, WALB had tried to call Dr. Luse multiple times for comment but could not get through. Dr. Luse was not facing any charges as of Tuesday afternoon.
