ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany church is making a difference by helping others in the community.
First United Methodist Church held their second annual "Great Day of Service." Members participated in 25 community service projects around Albany. Youth members and Cub Scouts from Pack 64 built and painted signs for a Community Garden downtown.
"We figured this would be a great opportunity for the cub scouts to learn how to serve others," said Michael Tabrrok, Cub Master for Cub Pack 64.
"What we're doing is trying to get people to come up with their own projects in areas of need," said Hank Wright, Coordinator. "We are trying to address those needs and that's what today is all about giving back to the community and church members and those in need."
Other community service projects included yard work, an Easter Egg Hunt and volunteering at the Albany Humane Society.
