ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A new fitness program is helping South Georgia families get in to shape.
Peach State Health Plan hosted a Family Fun Fitness Program at the Henderson Community Center. Personal trainers from "Tissfit" in Atlanta will travel to Albany to teach families about nutrition, Zumba and weight lifting.
"So we want to be able to contribute our part and say hey these are the items that we're doing," said Veronika Mix, Peach State Health Plan Manager of Community Relations. "We are providing a personal trainer. We are providing nutritional meals. We're providing healthy tips."
"We're just trying to get the kids, get the families healthy," said Tissilli Rogers, Peach State Health Plan Master Trainer. "We want everybody to come out and participate."
The program is free for Peach State Health Plan members. It kicks off April 18th at noon at the Henderson Community Center and will be held two Saturdays out of every month.
