ALBANY, GA (WALB) - More than 800 people laced up their walking shoes for the Albany Pink walk this morning.
Folks proudly displayed their pink to help raise money for breast cancer. This is the third year for the walk put on by Albany Motorcars and BMW of Albany at Phoebe Putney's Meredyth Campus.
Organizers say breast cancer is a disease that affects everyone.
"Brest Cancer has affected a lot of people," said Carlos Watson, Service Director for Albany Motorcars and BMW. "If you haven't had someone immediately affected you know people who have. Everyone has their reasoning for being involved, but I think it's just important."
The event raised about $50,000. All the proceeds will help support cancer patients at Phoebe.
