ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Help paint Albany pink this weekend, and raise money for breast cancer.
Albany Motorcars and BMW of Albany are preparing for the third annual Albany Pink Walk Saturday morning.
The three-mile trek will begin and end at Phoebe's Meredyth campus. 850 people have already signed up; that's more than three times the number of people who participated the first year.
"Everyone has someone that they know that's been affected, if not someone immediately, a loved one. So it's a really important thing. I mean breast cancer, cancer period is on the radar for everyone. So we really feel excited that we're a part of this," said Service Director Carlos Watson.
Registration begins Saturday morning at 8:30 with the walk starting at 10:00.
The registration fee is $20 and all the proceeds will benefit patients at the Carlton Breast Center. Organizers have raised $51,000 so far this year.
