ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police said someone is calling folks claiming to be from Georgia Power.
The scammer said you need to make a credit card payment immediately or your electricity will be cut off.
Officials said don't hesitate to demand information from any caller you think might not be legit.
"Ask them to give you more information. If they are asking you for information turn that conversation around and demand answers from them. Ask them certain questions…can I confirm your telephone number, where your calling from and who your calling with," Phyllis Banks, Albany police PIO.
If you have questions about your Georgia power bill call them directly.
