Student robbed at Valdosta State University

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Officers are looking for a man they say robbed a student of her cell phone.

It happened just after 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the Student Recreation Center.

According to a report by Valdosta State University Police, a husky black male wearing a light green shirt came up and grabbed the female student's cell phone, then got away in a tan Chevrolet Tahoe.

Officers said the student was not injured.

Valdosta State University Police Department officers are investigating the case.

VALDOSTA — Around 5:17 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, officers with the Valdosta State University Police Department responded to a robbery by sudden snatching at the Student Recreation Center, located at 1300 Sustella Ave.

An unknown, unarmed black male of husky build standing roughly 5 feet 11 inches tall and wearing a light green-colored shirt approached a female student near the Student Recreation Center entrance and grabbed her cellphone. The suspect then fled the scene in a tan-colored Chevrolet Tahoe.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

Valdosta State University Police Department officers are investigating the case.
