BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Bainbridge Public safety officers hope three recent arrests will teach people that taking donated items from the Salvation Army is indeed a crime.
58-year-old Martha Murphy, 49-year-old Nathanial Thomas, and 32-year-old Erica Jackson are all charged with theft by taking
Officers were able to identify the three after surveillance video caught them taking items that were dumped outside of family store.
"If they would have gone inside and spoken to the person inside, they possibly could have gotten help through the Salvation Army itself. Instead of coming back at 11:00 at night and taking items that didn't belong to them," said Bainbridge Public Safety Major Robert Humphrey
Investigators are continuing to investigate more surveillance footage of other suspects caught stealing.
