THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Deputies with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office said one man was killed in an industrial accident.

It happened just before noon at the AmeriGas facility on Commercial Drive near Thomasville.

According to a report, a man was loading propane tanks onto a truck, when they slipped and crushed him.

Officials said he was killed instantly.

Captain Steve Jones said, "Everybody that's here, they're still in shock. It's such a tragic accident and it happened so fast. There's absolutely nothing anyone could do."

They estimated that the tanks weighed over 1,000 pounds.

Workers dispatched a crew to use equipment in order to lift the tank off of the man.
