Tifton Papa John's helps raise money for teen killed last week
TIFTON, GA (WALB) -
A Tifton pizza restaurant Wednesday night raised money for the family of a teenager killed on his way to work last week.
Chance King would have turned 18 Wednesday.
The Papa John's where he worked set aside part of their proceeds to help the King family.
He was hit by a pickup truck on Ferry Lake Road while riding his skateboard to school.
The assistant manager said it was important for them to help.
“But we felt as a company as a team it's almost like a family up here. We really wanted to do something to help support the family and help them in this time of need,” said Mike Simpson, Asst. Store Manager.
Simpson said they received well more than 100 orders for Chance and several donations towards the fundraiser.
