THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A southwest Georgia group hopes an upcoming Memory walk will raise awareness and support for families impacted by Alzheimer's disease.
The Jim Neill Alzheimer's Awareness Group hosted a prayer service at Thomas University Wednesday afternoon.
Local pastors and musical performers attended to support the walk that raises money that stays in Thomas County.
Folks also shared personal stories of how the disease has affected their loved ones.
"We want to reach out to the community and let them know that we care. And although it's a difficult time, we can at least pray for one another and hold on to one another," said Dr. Steve DePaola of Thomas University.
The Memory Walk will be held at Thomas University April 11th at 9:00AM.
