MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - A Moultrie man is about to ride his bicycle to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities.
Reed Wells is a junior at Mercer University. He's taking part in the Journey of Hope, a ride from the west coast to Washington, DC.
Cyclists will travel about 75 miles a day stopping along the said to with organizations that help people with disabilities and do whatever they can to help.
"I'm very excited because it will give me a chance to see where the fundraising money is going to and what kind of people we are helping. And what good we are doing out there. I've talked to guys who have done it in the past and they can't talk about the trip without tearing up. It is that powerful," said Reed Wells, cyclist.
The goal of the group is to raise $600,000 on the ride to help people with disabilities.
