THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - A private rehabilitation center in Thomasville is now closed after investigators said the operator solicited women for prostitution.
Robert Mathis, 51, is charged with pandering and false imprisonment.
Mathis formerly directed a rehab center for recovering addicts called Chapel House.
Investigators said he paid women to perform sex acts with his clients.
Lt. Tim Watkins with Thomas County Sheriff's Office said, “During the investigation, we had discovered he had tied one of his clients to a bed, which is in violation of Georgia statute. So we charged him with false imprisonment also.”
Investigators will not charge the women involved.
Mathis was released on a $15,100 bond.
