Law enforcement will be out St. Patrick's Day

State troopers encourage you to be smart if you plan to celebrate St. Patrick's Day Monday.

St. Patty's Day is often associated with a lot of drinking.

Officers will be on patrol tomorrow night looking for those who chose to drink and then drive.

One of the easiest ways to stay safe and avoid being arrested is to designate a non-drinker to drive if you plan on drinking.

"That'll cut down on a lot of issues on you possibly getting a DUI or you possibly having an accident in which you are seriously injured or somebody else is seriously injured or killed," said Sgt. Dana Harnage, Georgia State Patrol.

Sgt. Harnage said what makes the day a bit easier to patrol is that it's a one-day event and isn't a major travel period.
