ALBANY, GA (WALB) - After 11 years overseeing Albany's airport Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Director Yvette Aehle resigned Monday.
Aehle's last day on the job will be March 26th.
She accepted as Deputy Director at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport in Florida.
Aehle went to Florida Tech and has a lot of family in the state so she said the opportunity was too good to turn down.
“It's time. We need somebody with energy. We need somebody with vision. And, I found another position that will make me very happy both professionally and personally,” said Yvette Aehle, Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Director.
While in Albany, Aehle oversaw a major 3 phase airport improvement project that's now coming to an end.
It included the construction of a new airport terminal.
