ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A disabled Marine veteran's new business was burglarized over the weekend, even before it was even ready to open.
Jason Whitaker today continued setting up his new business , the VIP Shop, on Maple Street. It will sell clothes and host an Internet cafe.
Sunday morning crooks broke out the back window of his building, and stole the only things in there, a couple of hats and coolers. But Whitaker says that will not stop him.
"I'm kind of mad because I'm from this neighborhood," said Whitaker. "And at the same time I'm willing to help anybody. So if you need a hat or shirt of pair or pants or shoes, man. I'm going to give it to you."
Whitaker says he will fit his business with an alarm system and surveillance cameras, to better protect it. He hopes to open in two weeks.
