AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

It began as a regular order at the counter of a McDonald's, but escalated to an attack after a customer was charged too much.

"He actually went behind the counter, choked the cashier, and punched him once with a closed fist," said Major Herman Lamar with Americus Police.

The cashier wasn't seriously injured, but now Willis Mann has bigger issues than an incorrect food order.

He's charged with felony aggravated assault.

"It's crazy. I don't know what this worlds coming to. I really don't," said Major Lamar.

Customers asked if they had ever had a wrong fast food order replied that it happens a lot.

"Yes. All the time. I mean it happens," said Cynthia Medrano.

"My orders are wrong all the time," said Valerie Price.

"Normally I just tell them that it's wrong, and they fix it," said Denishia Kearse.

The general consensus was that all fast food restaurants get it wrong sometimes, but customers just deal with it.

But police said Willis Mann lost his cool when it happened to him.

"It's rather unusual to have a customer become so irate that they attack a cashier," said Major Lamar.

Overall, customer Denishia Kearse says it's not worth the consequences.

"It's not, 'cause you can just get it fixed," she said.

Major Lamar said there was surveillance video to support what the cashier claimed, it just was not available today.

Employees at the McDonald's had no comment on the incident.
