TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Parents in Tift County have a unique opportunity to meet with their children's school counselors tomorrow. The school district will hold their BRIDGE meetings Friday for parents with students in 8th through 11th grade.
The meetings were mandated by state lawmakers in 2010. School officials said it's a great way for parents to get involved in the learning process.
"This is really important because our counselors are here every day for our students and this is a time that's set aside so that parents can really be involved and know exactly what their kids are going to be taking to make sure they're getting the credits they need to graduate," said Stacey Beckham with the Tift County School System.
Friday is a school holiday for students. Counselors will be set up in the lunch room at the high school.
