2 Ferguson officers shot at protest

FERGUSON, Mo.  -  Officials confirmed overnight two officers were shot in front of the Ferguson Police Department.

It happened shortly after midnight Thursday. The conditions of the officers is not known.

The shots were fired as protesters had gathered following the resignation of the city's embattled Police Chief Thomas Jackson on Wednesday.

This comes after a DOJ report cleared  former Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson, of civil rights charges in the shooting of  18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson last summer.
