ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Downtown Albany leaders are tired of waiting on Waffle House.
They first started talking about the restaurant building downtown nearly a year and a half ago, but it hasn't happened.
City officials say they've spoken to the company several times, but so far no construction has started.
Vice President of the Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority Michael Stewart said they are way behind schedule.
Wednesday night ADICA members voted to draft a letter to the company to pin developers down on when construction will start on part of the old Bank of America property.
Stewart said he's confident the Waffle House will eventually open and be a great addition downtown.
"We are very concerned. We feel eventually that we will have the building constructed. But right now it's been such a long time for them to start, and we just need some sort of answer," said
ADICA leaders said construction on the Waffle House was supposed to start in September.
